So who are we you may ask?
Well the “we” is actually a me. My name is James Plunkett, owner, designer, developer, director, tea boy etc etc, of j-digital-ink. j-digital-ink is an amalgamation of a group of design projects that I have been involved in within the last 5 years. Looking Glass Media; a company which I started during my undergraduate years at university, then j-digital media; a media company which was an offshoot of a postgraduate university project, and finally my new venture entitled digital-ink. However due to legal reasons the use of the company name digital-ink has been as ruled out as another company all ready holds copywrite control over all trading under this name; so j-digital-ink was born. “Pause for breath”
James Plunkett holds 3 degrees to his name; a university diploma in multimedia visualization with integrated product design, a Batchelor of arts with honors (2.1) in Applied Graphic Design Technologies and a Masters of Arts with distinction in Digital Media. But also plans on finally sitting a P.H.D. in the development of psychological A/V techniques in modern film.
The last 6 years have taken me on a large journey all with steep learning curves.starting with an interest in simple computer programming, then multimedia leading on to graphic design, then web and finally television and film. With such a large skill base choosing one direction to seek employment in seemed touch, but why chose when I could do them all, does anyone else offer every single media need in the one place?
Past clients have included local bands, small businesses, sole traders, arts dealers and interior design companies, but while being at university a lot of my time was taken up by study instead of expanding my portfolio of clients. My portfolio still however works as quite a large and extensive showcase for my abilities. As a confident man once said “we can do anything when we put our mind to it” j-digital-ink stick by this and go further to say, “rap it up ill take it.” Because we know we won’t disappoint.
Minus the business head what am I like, what makes me tick?
I’m a great lover of music, especially live gigs and festivals, and will travel a long way to see certain bands. I play guitar, bass and piano and am attempting to learn the drums and DJ but are failing miserably. I have a great passion for photography as I have a bad memory and believe that certain moments should be kept alive for as long as they can. A huge film fan but not in the sad convention visiting dress up kind of way. Love graphic and street art, and find it very inspiring. Have great communication and interpersonal skills and can talk to anyone on a coherent level which they will understand. Finally have a very bad gadget habit coupled with a love for all things computer based, always needing to fuel my obsessions for easy living.
Oh and I like Mac’s better than Pc’s but I’m sadly a master of both.
